The fact that a renowned car like Bugatti Veyron has been named as the car with the highest fuel consumption in the US is quite an amazing fact. But does it surprise us? Not quite. Bugatti Veyron may hold the record of being the car with the highest speed across the globe, but a survey by the Environment Protection Agency has revealed that the car gives a mileage of a mere 8 mpg, consuming a whopping 29.4 liters per 100 kms on city roads. While on the highways, it consumes a 15.5 liter of gas for the same distance. Well that quite pinches your pocket.

Whereas, on the other hand, Toyota’s wonder car Prius promises to be a great fuel saver having a mileage of 51 mpg, i.e. consumption of only 4.6 liters of fuel per 100 kms. The handsome car is building on this merit to race towards being the least fuel consuming car on the US streets.

Bugatti Veyron is one of the most lavish cars in the world with a powerful engine and top speed to boast of. It accelerates to a speed of 60mph in just 2.5 seconds. The car maintains an average top speed of 407 km/h holding the world record of 434 km/hour for any legalized street car. The people who buy a Bugatti Veyron though, do not care much about the mileage. The prestige and reputation of the brand is all that matters. But with fuels becoming costlier by the day, fuel efficient cars are the need of the hour. Toyota has just taken that into consideration and has produced the Toyota Prius, which can give any car a run for its money. The USP of the car is its mileage which very few cars in the market can equal. On the other hand Bugatti Veyron with its astonishing speed and grace overlooks mileage as an important parameter.
